Shakespeare’s Macbeth, directed by James Hattan – February 2026
Interact produced a visceral production of Macbeth, exploring Macbeth’s trauma inflicted from the war that precedes the play. By using intense sound design, minutes’ long blackouts and chaotic movement sequences, audiences were plunged into Macbeth’s psyche.
Epigram described the production as ‘A technical triumph that redefines student theatre’, bringing an ‘experimentation and technical flair… simply never seen at Bristol.’ Read the full review here
This production was entirely sold out for its run in the Wickham Theatre.

Federico Garcia Lorca’s The House of Bernarda Alba, directed by Olly Francis and Gwyneth Williams – November 2025
Interact was revived with this symbolic production, which used shadows and live cello as a metaphor for overhanging death prevalent throughout the play. With a radical design – dirt covered the stage and was constantly interacted with – this was a statement of artistic intent that Interact would not present classics in a manner traditionally seen on the big stage….
Epigram raved that ‘there is no better way to be revived than with this phenomenal performance’ and described the show as ‘a fabulous revitalisation of Interact theatre company’. Read the excellent review here.
